SCAN: A wide range of size: they seem to continue to grow throughout their lives, the smallest of them standing at 30cm and being 60cm in length while adult individuals range up to 300-400% that estimation. The coloration of their bodies is predominantly brown, to aid with camouflage. Their backs have a lattice-like "shell" in which seeds can take root and grow. Flora growing from their backs is specific to region, and in order to maintain cover, they do not range far from that defined region.
Habitat: "It is hard to say, as they are nearly impossible to see when they are still. I have only found them in wooded areas, however."
SCAN: Natural ability for stealth makes this hard to guarantee, but estimated anywhere with enough flora to support their method of camouflage.
Behavior: "I have not seen them move very much. They have very long tongues they use to catch insects that are drawn in by the flora on their backs. When I... encountered them for the first time, it swiped at me with its claws, though I managed to avoid being scratched. It then ran away. I am unsure if it was in a group, as it was alone while it ran, though there might have been others around."

Heat signatures show that they typically travel in large groups, though spread out across an area as to not compete too much for food. Low self-defense capabilities, only being able to use sharp claws to defend itself. It avoids predation through camouflage.
Uses: "Perhaps... they could be hunted, but they are difficult to find."
SCAN: Meat is edible, nutritious, and quite delicious. Depending on what flora they carry on their back, that flora might be usable as well.
