HI GUYS! I'm bringing you Mamoru Hijikata from the manga Until Death Do Us Part. This dude is a bit of an asshole, kinda? So, yeah, heads up.

TL;DR version: He will put it simply as "I'm an antisocial asshole who spends his days thinking of several ways to use a sword" [his words, actually]. And that's it, that's the show. Just don't call him a samurai or prepare for a lecture.

Back home he dedicated the entirety his life to swordfighting and GITTING GUD in a modern setting, and well... so far he has succeeded. Also, he was in charge of protecting a 12 year old with precognitive abilities, even if his methods make people go unsure. He can come off as a bit of a creep, himself, if you haven't noticed.

This whole militia thing is actually something he's used to, so calling all vets and commanders and interested parties: let's talk about TACTICS AND BRIEFINGS AND HOW MUCH DO YOU LIFT, BRO?

...oh. Mamoru is blind. Forgot about that... little... detail. Yes. Hence the scars on his face. He will be wearing shades that project his surroundings as a wire-frame grid into his retina. So in Gallipoli he will be constantly wearing a gas mask like the creep he is to cover it up - be prepared for misfires in the comms too. Because Siri the voice to text function sucks, that's why.
