HRHR SUBMISSIONS: No Sympathy for the Devil.
TAKE THE RIDE;
freedom is something that dies unless it's used

READ THE HRHR BRIEFING.
SUBMISSIONS:
Here's the post to turn in your HRHR threads! Please submit them to the appropriate header.
Again, you guys have until September 24th to turn in threads. Submissions are mandatory, even for failures. Otherwise, your characters die regardless of outcome and your activities will not factor into the plot; it will be like no one took the mission at all. If only one character participates by the time submissions close, the mission will be considered a failure and a false start, but only the non-participating character will be penalized.
Threads do not need to be complete, but they should show characters working on their HRHR in some capacity. And, as long as your submissions are in by September 24th, you can edit in bonus progress until September 30th. A followup post will go up on October 1st.
Thank you for participating in our last round of HRHRs!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS.
SUBMISSIONS.
Thread: A link to your thread.
Outcome: Whether they succeeded or failed in their mission. Include if it's a close call or critical success!
Method: What method your characters used to complete their mission (referring to the underlined words in the objectives).
Detection: Did anyone see you? If yes, who?
Injuries: Was anyone injured? How badly? This includes you and your enemies.
Bonus: Optional; if you want to summarize what you've threaded so far, include those activities here. Summaries shouldn't be longer than one paragraph in length, but these details have a chance of affecting endgame, regardless of whether you succeeded or not. For example, the genetics team might want to touch on how they infiltrated the lab, the BCE team might specify how they destroyed the prototypes, maybe your charcter chatted up the enemy instead of killing them, etc. Whatever the case, creativity is the name of the game.

Outcome: All BCE prototypes, notes, lab, etc. destroyed
Method: Horse went in, got the list of employees, took care of them first. Returned to the labs, burnt all research, prototypes, and anything remotely useful for the manufacture in the future. He then used his Noble Phantasm to shoot a huge fuck off space arrow on the lab itself, destroying it entirely
Detection: See above about huge fuck off space arrow. There's probably a crater in the ground.
Injuries: Horse took quite a few knocks and miiight have bits of metal in him in important places that he's gotta take five and remove.
Bonus:
MISSON: KEB
Thread: mind schemin'
Outcome: Solid failure.
Method: A combination of crafting a way to make Ueli less susceptible to brainwashing (drawing on what little Arthur gleaned from her adult mindscape + Arthur's general knowledge of mindfuckery) and convincing her to question authority (drawing on some of the intel gathered during the Fafnir mission + fucking around on the internet). When this failed, Arthur was prepared to neutralize her, but William tried to step in and stop him, and, uh, yeah.
Detection: Yes...I'm not entirely sure by who, but I imagine Ueli would've sounded the alarm when shit started to go down.
Injuries: ARTHUR DIED, William dislocated his shoulder.
Bonus: Arthur read all 10.5k words of Keb-to-be's fanfic BUT DIDN'T LEAVE A SINGLE COMMENT OR KUDOS.
MISSION: SAVE THE DAY
Thread: here there be dragon
Outcome: CRITICAL SUCCESS!! Like there was any doubt.
Method: After violently subduing Fafnir, with the help of the power of
lovememshare, William and Mams then regrouped and convinced him to stop the signal.Detection: I mean. Obviously by Fafnir, but they were both masked. Since it's a crit success, I'm gonna say they otherwise went undetected.
Injuries: Cuts and bruises (and minor burns) sustained by the dream team, and according to Kai, Mams would clip Fafnir's wings (provided he has them) or slash one of his tendons.
Bonus: Both William and Mams ingested some of Fafnir's blood during this drama and can now speak to birds. GREAT NEWS FOR THEIR SOCIAL LIVES.
While they succeed in accessing the data Viero's gathered, they'll ultimately decide it's better off destroyed (though not before William takes a look at it ahahahahahahaha).

Outcome: FAILURE at killing Viero, but not a catastrophic one. Much of the following was suggested by those parameters: if they had gotten further in they would probably either have succeeded at killing Viero or been unable to escape without serious injury.
Method: Fairly straightforward! They scout the barracks where Viero lives and attempt to go in disguised. However, it's simply guarded too well by too many people, and while they get a little ways in, thanks to their stealth and magic keys, they're detected and have to escape. They are unable to complete the assassination or even get far with it, and because of increased security following their attempt (and, assuming it's submitted, potentially the successful assassination of the king), are unable to try a second time.
Detection: Their presence was detected, but their identities and mission were not. It's a good thing Jon has been masking Longclaw's pommel as much as he masks himself.
Injuries: They each took some scrapes and bruises in a fistfight, but were able to avoid getting shot or seriously stabbed, and able to get away without anything too severe.
Bonus:
REVOLUTION ROCK
Thread: link
Outcome: Success! However, the difficulty level here was extraordinarily high, so even their good rolls didn't lead to an easy and unqualified success. They had to work for it, and things sometimes didn't work out the way they wanted them to.
Method: Jon and Dany launch a revolution approximately as they were assigned to do: with a lot of secretive, wearying political meetings with various types of community organizers (food bank managers, crime bosses, etc). They make deals, get people to talk to each other, convince them to work together in spite of rivalries, tell them that the way to a better future is to unite and push back on the boot that's pushing them down. They make no assurances as to success or survival, and in fact are blunt about the fact that a choice to participate in this is dangerous, but starvation is hardly any better. They are persuasive in this, as they are in their canon. If and where it was necessary, they have asked for small help from gamemates and fourth-wall castmates -- Chiron and Rhaegar standing by near meetings in case they go south, that kind of thing.
While they have no real technical expertise, some people in this society do, and one of their more powerful allies should eventually be able to bring in someone to accomplish the hacking that allows greater firepower to the would-be revolutionaries.
Detection: Not by authorities, but there have been a few close calls and harrowing nights, and they have had to find a new place to live at least once.
Injuries: Nothing too bad for them, maybe a few punches thrown that Jon has gotten in the way of, but there have been a few tense situations where they have had to talk rivals down from killing each other, etc., and a few where they've failed to. The anger of the people also leads to brutality on both sides during the event itself: there is enough bloodshed and atrocity that they have a hint of a bad taste in their mouths for their role in it.
Bonus: The thread depicts a meeting between the leaders of several rival gangs. The toughest leader, Esi, is not really out for herself; she has a lot of parallels with Jon and Dany and is meant to be kind of similar to one of the leaders of opposing groups who they find common ground with in canon. Esi's main goal is already protecting and feeding her own neighborhood… by making it a place where people who would fuck with her and hers are afraid to walk, stealing needed goods, and so on. Melana is a childhood friend of hers, more recently a rival due to circumstances, and they will settle differences during and after this meeting and eventually sort of fall in love. Melana isn't as good as Esi: her personality is a little weaker and she likes nice things, so she's a little more out for herself, but she's willing to make the wager that the uprising will ultimately improve matters across the board. Kauko, the third boss at the meeting, is an up-and-coming every-man-for-themselves type who will jeopardize the whole thing. Melana and Esi will have to kill Kauko after this meeting because Kauko intends to undermine the planned uprising (the system works for her, she takes what she wants, people are afraid of her, why should she want to change it?). Melana will then die either in some ensuing gang struggles or the uprising itself. Esi could emerge after the revolution as a potential voice in government, maybe even a leader down the line, and while she is uncompromising, she would stop shy of ever being a complete monster. It is, however, possible that some other opposing governmental faction (related to Viero's survival or whatever) might eventually target her as a result. There are others around who are better than Esi and some who are much worse, but some of them die in the uprising itself, others return to petty or grand crime, etc.
(I wrote out a much more detailed summary of Esi, buuut this had to be cut back to a paragraph. Also, sorry for getting a late start, but we thought there was going to be an info post to help with these, so we waited on it until we couldn't anymore. Then I made up some stuff!)

Outcome: Strong success without major injury.
Method: Ashitaka and Soldier originally observed the target for several days, getting an idea of his daily routine and gleaning information about his life both at work and at home. After they felt as though they had enough information to use, they moved to intercept Oighear as he left his place of business. Upon subduing him, they removed him to a secluded location that they had scouted out to serve for their "intervention" of the man. They in equal parts leaned on methods of intimidation (more on Soldier's part) and entreating him to consider the life and livelihood of his family in the longer term (more on Ashitaka's). They would only release him upon getting a sense that he had been thoroughly convinced to abandon his current trajectory in life, with a promise that they would be keeping an eye on him to make sure he followed through.
Detection: Based on the margin of success, I would say no, except for the target of their mission.
Injuries: None besides minor injuries sustained during the mission.
Bonus: N/A so far.
... also, for my other HRHR, I got absolutely screwed work schedule-wise and didn't have the opportunity to put in the legwork for it. I do apologize, and I'll accept the consequences. ):

Outcome: Critical success!
Method: They attempted to convince the scientists to stop what they were doing, and when that didn't work, destroyed all of the necessary technology/data/etc. Genji probably will fight some security people who the scientists call in, but will make a point of not killing anyone. Angela will also find the extra data on the genetic compliance in the computer systems before they blow everything up.
Detection: As mentioned, the scientists themselves and their security people did see them, and Genji didn't kill anyone, though he probably incapacitated a few of the guards.
Injuries: Probably knocked out/hurt some dudes, but nothing drastic. Angela and Genji would come out pretty much unscathed, since critical success!
Bonus: They got into the building by Genji climbing up to the third floor and breaking a window and then Angela flying up to him with her Valkyrie suit, LMAO. The rest of what went on is pretty much summarized above!

Outcome: Failure, but only by one point, so close call!
Method: They will likely attempt to talk to Jörmungandr, have that fail, and then fight him but lose. The reason that they pull back is because 1) Genji is pretty out of his league in general and he's been poisoned once before, thanks no thanks, and 2) Siegfried isn't going to push himself as hard as he could for fear of overwhelming his bond with his Master, Rey.
Detection: They're fighting a giant snake in the middle of the Crosslands, chances are someone will notice!
Injuries: I don't want Genji to get too messed up due to bad luck he's had in the past and the fact that they only barely failed, so I'm gonna say that Jörmungandr's poison eroded some of his metal armoring, but otherwise he was okay. Siegfried will have some cuts that won't easily heal, along with armor damage.
Bonus: Nothing yet, might come back and edit things in as the thread goes on!

Thread: hot off the presses
Outcome: Success! By 2, so a narrow one.
Method: By combat, mostly, but see the bonus section.
Detection: Mordred dematerialized for most of the journey inside, and Eren's a sneaky sort, but the corpses/damage would give away that someone was there. (That said, since it's a narrow successes, I'm cool with someone escaping with a physical description of them.)
Injuries: Mordred got pretty wrecked in the magic duel, but she'll heal. I'll edit this with Eren's injuries later.
Bonus:
Straight from Ivan on discord: I want to basically brainwash the kid by flooding him with memories, so much that he doesn't know which are his, and in essence flush out whatever remains of the king-to-be, thereby """killing""" him.
If this isn't possible (OOCly, anyway; we're both fine with it not working/backfiring ICly), then Mordred just steps in and takes his head. She absolutely chops the head off his magical caretaker, and probably leaves it sitting on the throne as a warning.

Thread: boop
Outcome: Success! By 15 points, so a pretty convincing one, albeit not critical.
Method: Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening. Basically: they lucked into both (Ryuji especially) having lightning-based attacks, and scaring the shit out of Jormungandr, which made up for the difference in power between them.
Detection: Anyone who might have seen a very loud, very flashy fight going on over at the Crossroads.
Injuries: Lots of mana draining, so they'll be sleeping it off for a while. Other than that they're probably fine.
Bonus: I will edit this in later.
