STATE OF PARIS.
Paris has been a ticking timebomb for far too long. Someone's finally set the fuse-- the right riots at the right times, and the publication of Mirabeau's incriminating papers-- and now things are tumbling at an increased rate.
The random, disorganized riots of weeks ago are a thing of the past. Now, the riots are almost organized, and all converge around the royal palace. People call for the King's head, the Queen's death, the destruction of the monarchy. In an attempt to keep the palace from being stormed again, the National Convention calls for his trial, but things are still off kilter.
The papers uncovered from Mirabeau are incriminating, but they incriminate Mirabeau. Yes, his body has been exhumed and removed from its place of honor, but they only hint at what the king may or may not have done, colluding with a foreign power. It's implied there are more papers elsewhere, but where?
Furthermore, the proposed trial is a rushed affair. What took months in actual history is taking weeks in the Paris of now, with the National Convention rushing to kill the king in order to subdue the mob. Rushing an event of such historical importance is going to have negative ramifications on history. Several briefings are sent out, asking for COST operatives to help. (More information on this will be coming momentarily.)
In short: Paris is in an uproar. If you want to avoid conflict, it may be safer to stay inside for the next few days.
