Touch Base: Conclusion OOC plotting.

Suffice to say, Chiron's sent out another message:
The final vote has been tallied; you have collectively decided to spare the Shapers by a two thirds margin. Please begin rounding them up immediately. This one is, like the last, posted as a bulletin and thus impossible to reply to directly. However, you can always contact him directly.
The DACTYL droids have been reprogrammed to identify them, though the software is a little patchy. It should work in most cases, however, and help you know where to cut into the walls and find nests. Please deposit the Shapers in the DACTYL interiors, where they'll be escorted to the main launch bay and ejected. We highly recommend doing this with at least one partner, and preferably in groups, should the Shapers attempt to send you to sleep in defense. In preparation for this, we've furnished the DACTYLs with shock rods for your defense. It will not hurt the Shapers, only send them unconscious long enough to be collected.
Anyone found to be using the shock rods on their fellow recruits will be sent to the brig.
Any character who did not vote will find the entirety of this popping up constantly on their BCE for the next three days, and occasionally filling itself in on text boxes or showing up where messages are supposed to. Be careful, or your next sext will involve ancient Greek philosophy.
The final log for this plot will be going up on the 23rd, this Saturday. It will detail how the Shapers are rounded up, what happens, and more fun stuff like that.
Characters who opt not to follow the general will and kill Shapers instead will not be reprimanded. However, we'd like to know if your character is doing so, and how many they're killing, so please let us know below in the comments. Since sometimes you can't really tell how many tiny frog aliens your characters are going to kill until you get there, there isn't a due date on this one, just keep us posted, okay? It's important for... reasons.
One more thing: there are several characters planning on keeping a Shaper for themselves, for whatever reason. We kind of need to keep track of that, so please comment below to let us know. If you don't comment as such by the 23rd, your character can't keep a Shaper. Sorry, but we need to make sure our ducks are properly lined up.
Feel free to use this post to plot or plan for anything you want to in the coming log.

The brig is really just a spare capsule with all the amenities stripped out that he can't leave by accessing his BCE, it's a mess of faulty wiring that was hastily made in anticipation for this happening. THANKS FOR PROVING GROTHIA'S CYNICISM RIGHT.
Hei could probably easily break out.... if he wanted to... Chiron will probs come and give him a Stern Talk tho.

You can also find some information about the shapers here, which details their physical properties!

there's a mix of verbal and what probably is telepathic, here. there's maybe also a case for some sort of astral projecty type situation when it comes to commune with nature/beast sense maybe, but i feel that like's a mod call depending on the game's setting/mythos.
→ definite failure 1 | speak with animals spell (verbal; specifically animals rather than creatures/beasts, and she doesn't have access to it in game so it would be repeated failure / fizzle.) in essence she'd hang out by them and keep trying to cast it and then being like 'ok hi hello did it work let's be friends' before finding that the spell failed and crying in the corner about it
→ assumed failure 2 | she might attempt commune with nature - specifically in an attempt to reveal influence from other planes of existence. ie, are these things from this dimension to begin with and if not could she figure out where they belong???
~ the reason i figure it fails is that the spell rules dictate that it doesn't work in places like dungeons or towns, where 'construction has replaced nature' but i didn't want to assume anything about how to treat this setting oocly (though she totally assumes BASE is outside nature icly).
→ long shot | beast sense! a spell that allows her to 'sense' the world as if she were the beast on which it's cast-- she sees what it sees and hears what it hears. she has to be still and meditate and keep concentration for as long as she's actively using it. in addition, any special senses the beast has will convey information to her in their manner. if the beast is unwilling though, it won't work -- but hey maybe the rejection of the spell would adversely affect her or something?
also now that i am looking up at that long ramble, i worry that i've infodumped you too much if you're mechanics familiar! i'm never quite sure how much to give you but i don't want to make you feel like you're pulling teeth so if there's anything i can do to better explain my intentions please holler at me. especially if i'm failing to process it through a narrative lens enough. i don't want to bog you down in too much crunchy peanut butter when the game is so dang creamy otherwise <333

The first two would be failures, yes, for the reasons you outlined. Keyleth might get a different reading if she ventured out into the aether, but that isn't really advised, being interdimensional space and all.
Beast sense could work, but she'd have to win over a shaper first. We did a quick dice roll in that regard and Keyleth literally just BARELY failed, so an attempt on that front would result in Keyleth's shaper getting cold feet at the last second, so to speak. If you choose to go this route, why this happens is entirely up to you. The spell's rejection can knock her out with particularly nasty dreams and/or an extremely potent blast of negative emotional feedback; either option will have a psychic migraine as a side effect.
However, because she was so close, Keyleth would also get some residual feedback on the shapers' emotional connection; sort of a mild version of eating the gland in their brain, essentially. She'll sense shapers in her immediate vicinity and will receive emotional feedback from any human who touches her, but this will fade within 6 hours.

just for reference-- her shaper got cold feet because of some social blunder she totally made at the last minute because she got too excited (a la OH MY GOD IT'S WORKING WAIT NO WHERE ARE YOU GOING), and knocked her out c o l d. and now i'm gonna go hunt down people for keyleth to have touch edand possibly get punched in return
also i feel like you just dangled PRIMO bait so -- i'm super interested in what'll happen if she tries to hang out in the aether. i figure you guys have things planned for later involving it? so i'll sit on my hands for now!! but i have some really basic ideas for how she'd attempt it. because it's a rad concept and she'd be enough of an arrogant ahole to try for shits and giggles.
