POWER & MEMORY SWAP.

Yep, the upcoming log features a power/memory swap. While we're saving the exact details of how it'll happen for the log, we want to give you guys some time to prepare and chat amongst each other before it goes live. So let's talk logistics!

Swappage can go one way or both ways; there's no fine science to it. A character may go entirely unaffected themselves, but discover someone else has obtained one of their memories. Another character might not get anyone's memories, but they may suddenly (and temporarily) acquire superpowers. This doesn't mean that the original character even loses their powers, per se (unless that's your jam), and the characters involved may be friends or they may be complete strangers.

This segment of the plot is opt-in and open to anyone in the game and fourth wall characters.

Characters may only have one power set at a time, so while you can swap powers multiple times, you can't hoard them from multiple sources. However, characters can pick up as many memories as you like until this event resolves.

We have a form for you guys to fill out, for ease of plotting. Only include abilities and memories you're fine with other characters accessing; this can include game memories. If you have any stipulations or clarifications, etc, stick them in the notes section!

WESTWORLD the robo-theme park he hasn't told anyone in game about! (Everything in these memories—clothes, technology, weapons, whatever—will be period accurate to the Old West, but if your char's sharp they might notice some discrepancies...guests' clothes/equipment is newer than it probably should be, William talks like...an executive at a tech company...etc.)

* Arriving in Westworld (it's basically Utah) via train, being astonished and transfixed by the scope of it
* Discussing “real love” with a prostitute in a brothel (while politely rejecting her advances)
* Baby's first (totally ridiculous) shootout. A lot of this will involve crouching behind a table.
* YOUR CHOICE of conversations with Dolores, either discussing paths in life and being drawn to something beyond what you know, or wanting to change the story of your life (the second feat. awkward attempt at handholding).
* Nitroglycerin heist with Dolores and Ben Barnes. Optional: killing three men who threaten Dolores.
* Getting into a fight with Ben Barnes about human nature and William's ambitions at a WEIRD HBO ORGY WHY (Nb: William and Ben Barnes are both fully clothed for this).

IN GAME duh

* Being eaten alive by a spider.
* Dancing with/being metaphorically eaten alive by Mary Smythe while asking judgmental questions.
* Post-death hallucination involving being a member of the Regency in return for Dolores' eternal love.

He has no superpowers per se, but feel free to make your character suddenly have the immense conviction that they can slice bullets in half. Also I guess a wide knowledge of how to read people’s physical state/capabilities and their weaknesses? They probably have this already, lbr.
Memories:
Oh boy. Here’s a lot you can pick from. I can point you in the right direction of where you should look if you don’t know the canon, but here’s what’s up for grabs (or, if you do know the canon, and you want a memory that isn’t here, let me know). There's also a lot of canon stuff here in the comments if you're not planning on reading the manga (of which I don't blame you)/don't mind spoilers.

In Canon:

His childhood/batman moment (which can be arranged in a pretty little montage ig) and why he hates people getting wasted.

The murder of his master – so basically Why Mamoru Isn’t Just a Mere Kendo Instructor.

Chechnya – Basically his Trauma Center. Where he lost his sight, why he gets a little too invested in protecting his team, and why the idea of genetic engineering messes him up. Also why he’s single. Meeting Jesus (no, not that one).

Meeting 12-year-old girl that… basically proposes to him in return for his protection. And he says yes.
(also telling her SURE I'LL MARRY YOU NOW STOP CRYING and not meaning it because he's a douche it backfires, really)

A death that really, really got to him – these memories can come up with a nice wrapping of “Who Is Genda Teppei” memories and why he matters.

Missions with The Wall; or, with that said, him being somewhat domestic at Team Blade’s HQ.

Him basically TURNING HIS HEEL – going to a group who was trying to kill him, and basically striking a deal with them, including his own hire.

Him bitching about him being no samurai, dudes. He has reasons for it. Ok. He does.

There’s a LOT OF FIGHTS WHERE YOU CAN PICK FROM. From him stopping a guy from killing himself (and Mams) with an explosive by slicing his jaw, to him being rescued by the little girl from a horde of zombies drugged people, from him fighting a guy that’s from his own team, a sequence of followed attacks in a bunker (military tank included), fighting a guy on a motorbike, etc. – a look into how Mamoru doesn’t really kill as an M.O., how death is an easy escape, how he stops in his tracks and delegates the decision to someone else, etc etc.

In Game:

His after-death vision, where he fights a certain detective and suddenly he sees (yes that’s not a typo) everyone dying with the worst last words ever.

- Being given her helmet by her mother, and told to never take it off.
- Camelot, in general. Killing enemies of the king, being on the march, days at court, etc. Literally always wearing her helmet and armour.
- Revealing herself to King Arthur (who looks identical) as his 'son', being denied the throne, and deciding to betray him.
- Going public with her betrayal and crowning herself king. Mockingly proposing to Guinevere, then revealing herself and laughing in her face.
- Her death at Camlann on the end of Arthur's spear.
- Her summoning during the Holy Grail War.
- Crashing a car onto a battlefield, and the ensuing fight.
- Bonding with her former Master, a necromancer who lost his own daughter. Basically the father she never had.
- Discussion about kingship in a restaurant.

INGAME:
- Breaking into Versailles, feat. Achilles and Ashitaka.
- Contracting with Ryuji while near-death at Gallipoli.
- Being captured and held prisoner by the Regency, along with all the mental torture.

Joking aside, I think I would like Jon to see the mindfucking, not only because he's been concerned about Dany on and off as a result of it, but because seeing Aerys would leave a stronger impression on him than ever before.

MEANWHILE: is Dany going to see Viserion go down from Jon's POV? It might be trippy to experience her own arrival from another POV (and feel his surge of hope etc) but seeing Viserion might be interesting. Another one I'd suggest for her might be one of the battle scenes, esp either Hardhome, BotB, or both.

Abilities:
- Muscle memory of spending almost his entire life training to fight. Be a cool sword person!
- Connection to Ghost: Ghost is back at BASE, so the connection is very tenuous, but this could come in the form of simply being aware of a connection to something far away, feeling hungry for raw meat when you've just eaten, and/or having a strong sense in your dreams that all your siblings except one are dead. (The living one is a "wild sister" followed by "small cousins" and they generally tend to chase the moon and hunt; the dead ones are three brothers and a sister who was the first to go; more specifically, the living one is Nymeria with her pack of regular wolves and the dead ones are Lady, Grey Wind, Shaggydog, and Summer. Ghost is aware of the order in which they died.) There could be a little more here but it would require touching base with the mods (bc it would involve dreams of seeing BASE through Ghost's eyes that aren't actually dreams at all, and it requires approval).

Memories:

Canon:
Most things are up for grabs except for canon sex scenes (he only has two).
There are clips for any of these, which I will link if someone asks.
The more interesting things available are probably:
- Hardhome (his first encounter with the Night King): the intention was to convince a bunch of wildlings to get on boats and travel south of the Wall. The White Walkers attacked as they were loading up the ships. Jon fights, seriously almost dies, learns that his special sword is even more special than he realized, and experiences the complete horror of seeing the full extent of the Night King's abilities for the first time.
- The Battle of the Bastards: real, chaotic medieval melee combat in which Jon saw a sibling die at his feet and then became increasingly savage and bestial in battle. See a giant! Agoge is ending prior to the medieval campaign the mods had initially planned, so this is one way to see that kind of warfare if you want to.
- The Wildling attack on the Wall in 4x09 is also a good one, esp to experience the Wall itself. Smaller scale, lots of archery, not good for the acrophobic. See and defend a 700-foot-tall wall of ice! Fight a super scary cannibal war leader! Also watch your ex-girlfriend die in your arms.
- Get stabbed to death, then raised from the dead. Fun times for all! Two episodes passed while Jon was dead, but for him it was like no time, and it would be incredibly rattling to experience. This comes with a free optional execution of the people who murdered him, but idk, do we really need more executions around here? (End of 5x10, very end of 6x02, a few scenes in 6x03)
- Get acclaimed King in the North! Be incredibly flattered and feel like a lot of your childhood Issues have been redeemed! (Great Council scene, 6x10)
- Meet Daenerys for the first time! She's a demanding hardass.
- See the only known dragonglass cave and view prehistoric cave art! This is beautiful and awe-inspiring. (Cave scene, 7x04)
- Meet and pet a real live dragon! (Jon's encounter with Drogon in 7x05)
- Be trapped on an island in a frozen lake, surrounded by 100,000 ice zombies who you're fighting off as well as you can. Watch Daenerys fly in with all three dragons and be amazed. Watch the Night King kill one of the dragons as if he was killing a fly, and be horrified. Watch him prepare to kill Dany, and urge her to leave, knowing you'll be left behind. (Climax of 7x06)

Game Canon:
- Go be a guard for Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette for a month. Become uncomfortably aware that Antoinette ships you with Daenerys, and try to politely delay the wedding she's planning for you.
- Reunion with Robb.
- Dreams from the dreamshare event (variations on two dreams from the books: the Winterfell Crypts dream that Jon has a lot, and the "armored in black ice with a burning sword" defending-the-Wall dream).
- Gallipoli trench warfare.
- Meeting Ataturk and, along with a bunch of other COST recruits, talking him into a ceasefire.
- Dragokeets deciding to nest in your hair and Chiron coming to your rescue.
- Things related to Irriella, if you are curious as to how an Aranean princess adopted a member of COST from the POV of a reluctant "dad."
- That controversial execution from an insider's slightly discomfited point of view, which would include a nested memory of an earlier conversation with Kebechet.
- Have another idea? If something was handwaved, I will be happy to write out a couple of points or a brief narrative if asked.

Abilities: So a lot of Genji's abilities are tied to his prosthetics/cybernetics and so they're not easily transferable buuuut let me know if you want your character to suddenly be able to randomly summon a spirit dragon! That's certainly up for grabs.
Memories:

CANON:
• The time when he was young and wild and shirked all of his family's duties to go be a playboy or literally go play at the arcade.
• Being told by his father and other members of his family that he had to get in line and be a proper heir to the Shimada clan, only for Genji to refuse and run off in a rebellious huff.
• Getting murdered by his own brother, Hanzo, in some horrific manner after Hanzo's attempt to get Genji to comply with their family's wishes went unheard.
• Being in various stages of fucked up and barely conscious in the aftermath of this near-death experience, including conversations with doctors (including Angela!), perhaps even Jack, etc.
• Various Blackwatch missions! This is after Genji has his cyborg body and is working for Overwatch's black ops division, doing stealth/wet work. The Venice Incident is the only one we have any concrete info about, but other ones could be fashioned if interested!
• Genji learning from Zenyatta about to find inner peace and accept himself up in the mountains of Nepal, at the Shambali Monastery.
• Genji's confrontation with Hanzo, as shown in this short! Tl;dw is that Genji confronts Hanzo at their old home, reveals that he's still alive, they fight and both summon their dragons, then part on uncertain terms.

IN-GAME: (I can provide reference threads for all of these!)
• Waking up at the tail end of Gallipoli and meeting up with people like Mamoru, Samus, Jack, etc. Escaping the trenches and boarding the ship back to BASE.
• Infiltrating House Shaiy alongside Arthur and Sebastian during the Jhashch mission.
• Dying in the arenas alongside Jack during the Jhashch mission and then waking up post-revival back on BASE.
• His Jhashch HRHR, which involved getting suddenly warped into the middle of a fight between the Generals and House Khah, and getting attacked/losing his arm in the process.
• And any of his other threads are probably up for grabs too, I have a somewhat out-of-date tracking thread here!

• When Saito offers them the Inception/Fischer job and he argues it can't be done. Except he's told it can be, even after his very illustrative description about how ideas can't be planted in someone's head.
  
• Another conversation about whether inception is possible, this time on a private jet. He's asking Cobb who he performed inception on and Cobb won't tell him.
  
• Reassuring their new architect, Ariadne, that she's ok after waking from a dream. And explaining totems in an effort to get her to calm down.
  
• Explaining paradoxical architecture in dreams. And dropping the bomb that Cobb's wife is dead to Ariadne. Oops.
  
• Same friend blaming him for fucking up the beginning of the Fischer job and him sort of initially taking it. Also subsequent argument about how they'd all end up in dream limbo with scrambled eggs for brains thanks to his Great Friend Dom Cobb.

• Figuring out the birds on the ship actually had some sentience for the first time. Yes, he talked to the birds (as we all know as Young now lmao).
  
• The miserable, tense waiting in Gallipoli with Group 4.
  
• Before that though, that time he saved an alien noble from the Regency by being extremely seductive.
  
• Chchai's house party and how he was able to slip around relatively unnoticed thanks to Genji and Sebastian being much tastier meals.

- Seeing Yusuf's dream den, where he, Cobb, and Saito are shown a basement full of people dreaming via PASIV.
- Working on planning inception. Small memories of listening to Cobb, laying out the city, planning with Ariadne, kicking out Arthur's chair from underneath him.
- The airplane, stealing a wallet and setting up the PASIV to begin dreaming, the rain and pretending to want a taxi to get in the same car as their mark.
- Their argument in the warehouse, where Arthur made a mistake and Cobb's been withholding information.
- Eames forging a tall blonde woman, flirting with the mark and stealing a wallet, walking to the elevator and messing with Saito.
- Saito confuses him for the real man he'd forged earlier. They follow him to the suite the team is in, and put the mark under, having convinced him to help them. Eames and Arthur teasing each other before they wake up out in the snow.
- Watch him kick some ass and throw a grenade at a man and have the gall to give him a thumbs-up!
- When they almost give up on inception, and Ariadne convincing them to keep trying because they still have time.
- His fond conversation with Saito, then taking down the dream people at the fortress while planting bombs, resuscitating Robert and watching him in the safe, then blowing up the fortress.

GAME CANON
- His fight with Arthur during the alien dream share thing.
- Hanging with his buds while being miserable at the beginning of Gallipoli
